Those that have any thoughts of self actualization or rejection of US political and economic domination are considered socialists or are otherwise denigrated. Put another way, peoples seeking freedom must first bow to US business interests and must be fortunate enough to have a wealth of raw materials before they can expect any help from our military or intelligence community. It is for that reason that our country has supported facists around the world who maintained the status quo--including Sadam Husein---as long as our business interests were free to subjugate the poor and plunder their wealth. Myanmar and Tibet lack adequate resources. The views of the majority of Americans don't count. If Rice claims "small favors" in the brutal suppression of democracy and Bush's buddy Busharraf has to have a harsher dictatorship, the media will go right along and focus on the important things, like Hillary's cleavage and whether she and our last best president, Bill, have separate bedrooms.
